Rusko Tour Teaser 2011
i had the opportunity to create a tour teaser video for Rusko's 2011 US tour. i was still working with NI at the time, and the marketing manager and i met with rusko’s tour manager and team at their staging warehouse in glendale where they were tweaking the light show. the brief was essentially to showcase the stage and lighting setup, as well as to reveal the tour dates and cities.
i shot the stage lighting setup on a 5DmkII from a variety of angles but ended up using one primary shot for the entire piece (with a few clever ninja edits here and there.) add some titles created in after effects with some sound-effected light pulsing, and the Rusko 2011 tour teaser was born!
clocking in at over 30,000 hits on youtube, the video was a success (driven largely in part by the intense Netsky remix of Rusko's "Every Day" that serves as the musical component of the piece.) but one of the youtube commenters calls the video "by far the best teasers [he has] seen"! and if you can't trust youtube commenters, then, well, where are we as a society?
