TOM OBERHEIM TWO-VOICE PRO
Tom Oberheim is something of a legend when it comes to synthesisers, so i was pretty excited to have the opportunity to work with him on a series of videos for the updated version of the classic TWO-VOICE PRO.
the first two videos are somewhat performance-based. the first video, Aliens in the Amazon, was initially just planned to be a one-off, and we shot relatively quickly, so i opted to shoot in 4K on the sony A7S for ease. it features Drew Neumann (of the original Aeon Flux Animated Series score fame, among many others,) more or less showing the process of composing the accompanying track.
the second TWO-VOICE PRO video is Excerpt from Yesterday Afternoon. this time featuring synth programming cognoscente Gary Chang. Gary's performance is actually live (with a few sneaky pick-ups and b-roll shots,) and makes use of the TWO-VOICE PRO's advanced MIDI features in a realtime environment. this time i shot on the EPIC and used the RONIN to stabilise, which gives this piece a bit more cinematic punch (sorry Drew!)
rounding out the trifecta is the TWO-VOICE PRO overview video. more of a tutorial video, this piece is a rather exhaustive explanation of the features and operation of the synth. i executed the entire project from scripting to voiceover to colour and final delivery. the overview video features another Drew Neumann track, and is a relatively long affair, probably not for those who are not synth enthusiasts!
the videos were produced by Geoff Farr at GSF Agency and are hosted on the DEM youtube channel.
